All the projects of the Brazilian-Portuguese studio Mameluca were also the result of the designers' reflection on the forms of social interaction and the prospects for influencing them through design. The founders of the studio, creative couple Nuno Franco de Sousa and Alessandra Clark, presented a series of miniature models of their full-scale objects for sitting and talking, the names of which are self-explanatory: "Circle of Trust", "Meet Halfway", "Confluence of Perspectives", "Tribute to Friendship", "Virtue of Listening".
At the center of the stand was the full-scale object "Monument To Collective Purpose" (2023). It consists of five identical triangular seats with high triangular backrests, tightly placed next to each other. It turns out that each of the people sitting looks in his own direction, at the same time remaining part of the group. This emphasizes the equal importance of different points of view and the importance of uniting people who enrich the common cause with their experience. The base of the object is made of marble, which adds monumentality to the composition, and the seats themselves are made of non-slip, soft and warm cork, comfortable for sitting. This contrast of materials also speaks to the value of diversity.
